I think the difference is that Christians don't try to sweep them under the rug, they admit that's what people who take the bible a little too wacky seriously act like; they are stuck in the Middle Ages and refuse to grow up. Everyone admits they are a small radical group of weirdos, because all they do is run around with a few signs being annoying. The difference is that radical Muslims run around murdering indiscriminately because their brains are stuck in 7th century Arab culture and refuse to progress into modernity. Instead of owning up to the fact that yes these people follow the holy book of their religion and yes it is indeed causing giant issues that are fucking up peoples' lives, it's always lets start crying about our feelings and how someone may hypothetically not like my religion very much, when the blood isn't even dry from latest killing. No one denies the WBC are Christian or don't represent true Christianity, really if anything they take that shit way too seriously. (Sorry for dragging this shit off topic)

You're generalizing an entire religion you clearly have little experience with.
Every muslim I know acknowledges that the radicals exist and are batshit crazy. Nobody is covering anything up.
This is pretty far off topic, but one of the biggest factors in why more violent terrorists are muslim is because they have fewer checks in place to stop it. In North America we have safeguards out the wazoo to protect against mass killings like this.... and we didn't have a soviet war machine feeding us guns and violence for 20 years. Much like how crime is typically higher in black neighbourhoods because of the lower incomes (not racist, black people statistically make less money, google it), Muslim countries have higher terrorism rates because of poverty and a history of violence. Remember that many of these countries were behind the iron curtain for years, and a lot of cold-war bias is still there. There is a great deal more than religion at play here.
