You should have asked the University to provide a 'safe space' where you can go to avoid this dangerous lecture.

Man isn't there someway to report her to someone, she's cultivating misinformation. That should be just enough of a cause to get her license revoked. On top of that she's literally supporting slow suicide.

"if you're craving a burger and you eat a salad, you'll never feel satisfied."

I mean yeah, if you radically change your diet overnight to something you don't particularly enjoy it sucks. You can eat a burger, just make moderate changes like having no mayo (-100cal) no bacon (-100 to 200cal) and getting a single patty instead of the double, ordering the small fries, ect.

There should be some dietitian group or union. She must get her certification from somewhere. Contact them, but do not be accusatory. Ask if their association promotes these behaviors/beleifs - and be very fucking specific. Paint them into a wall - have them agree or denounce the action. If they agree, post the association online and have the public revolt. If they dissent, explain your situation. Don't add your own beliefs. You don't need to say what you think, you want the weight of the "nutritionist's" actions to be the weight of the conversation. "A person in your association said this, shall I assume all of your members hold the same beliefs? "

If they disagree with X, what will they do to reprimand X? If nothing - return to step one.

You should totally do it. I have a cousin who's a dietician, and this shit would make her homicidal.

Plus, there's no excuse for this bullshit when you're paying for a quality education.

I hope during the Q&A you asked her about vanity sizing, specifically how Marilyn Monroe's size 14 in 1940 corresponded to her 26 inch waist which would be a size 00 in 2015, while a size 14 today has a 34 inch waist.

I don't think there was any opportunity for a Q&A, for obvious reasons (just like how comments are muted on Sarkeesian's videos). Right, OP?

Yeah no way there was any chance to question the material. There is bound to be a number of shitlords there deeply concerned with the spread of blatant medical misinformation who would completely eviscerate her.

If you ban all opposition, you can then claim you're right because you have no opposition

So true about sizes changing, however in a group of pre-med students I would bet there are a few who don't pay attention to how sizing in the fashion industry has changed over the past century. The way all these HAES people present their information is pure trickery and slight of hand.

And this is why fat people should never ever be nutritionists.

In med school we learned that putting sources of nutrition into your mouth all day is the mark of an expert nutritionist.

Haha! That's Fucking great. I have serious doubts about the medical school OP is attending. Why the fuck would you let someone unaccredited in really any fucking way speak to a medical school class about any fucking subject.

Edit: I see it's pre-med now that explains it.

If this story is true, you should report this to the head of the department. Misinformation has no place in a class, especially when it has been debunked so thoroughly. A class is also not the place for her to inject her own unsubstantiated ideas.

There is. Set up a throwaway gmail account, and just say you're a student in the class but don't want to name yourself. As long as you include enough info to show that you were in the class, it'll be fine.

As someone who suffered with Anorexia (which then kinda went into purging anorexia/EDNOS towards the end), I can assure you, skinny models and the media isn't what brought it on. I had issues, I had shit coping skills, and I was a fucked up 15 year old going through things. Anorexia gave me a sense of control among the hectic atmosphere that was my life at the time. Despite what fat fucks say, you can control your weight, as well as what goes into your mouth (da fuq is intuitive eating? seriously).

I couldn't control the situations or people around me, but I could control food and what went into my body. Throughout my life I have always had a BMI in the normal range, however it didn't matter, I always saw myself as fat. Even at 95 pounds and five foot seven, I thought I was a disgusting lard beast. But my body image was only part of the Anorexia, as I mentioned prior, it was mostly about power, control, and the loss thereof.

I am so fucking sick of waddle whales telling everyone that they have "Atypical Anorexia" or seeing someone who is 500 pounds claim that they used to have Anorexia. No, no you fucking don't and you never did. Its not a diet, Its not something you "try out" (looking at you MegaHam needs a Trainer) and its not to be taken lightly. Also, I have never seen a recovered Anorexic become morbidly obese. Yes, in recovery you gain weight, but first and foremost they teach you about nutrition and moderation. Usually the person affected is already petrified of food and gaining weight. You don't go from Anorexia to morbidly obese, especially not in a year like these fatties claim. "I may be cuhhrrvyy now, but I used to be a skinny anorexic bitch for years! I have been in recovery from muh condishuns now for 8 months, and I can't help what muh body looks like now. I screwed muh metabolism and juhnetics up, and even if I eat nuthin but lettuce I gain weight. Its because I was anuhhrexicc."

Lets just get this straight one last time, for the lurking hambeasts. "Atypical Anorexia" isn't real. What you are describing is actually an Eating Disorder not otherwise specified, or "EDNOS". You cannot be 250lbs at 5 foot 2 and claim to have Anorexia. Anorexia has specific criteria, and one of them is having a BMI 17.5 and under (correct me if I am wrong, I believe this is the criteria in the DSM IV but I know they have the DSM V now and I am not sure if the criteria has changed). The last time you saw 17.5 relating to your weight, you were on the scale when a chocolate chip from your cookie fell on the LED screen and landed behind the 7. Fuck you for making light of something that kills people, its not an excuse to be a disgusting fat pig either.

I'm sorry you have had to deal with this. I hate the way I look 99% of the time. But I try to be positive. I know my bf thinks I am the bees knees but when I look in the mirror I feel like my head is too small, my nose is too big, my skin is aging, getting older sucks. I have never felt confident about myself and I want to support all the ladies and germs who feel the same way. I love cheese and bacon but I keep cutting everything because I don't want to end up like some crazy lardtard on top of not liking my face or body. I do feel good that I lost 5 lbs and now am at 21 BMI, but I still feel chunky.
