I mentioned this sub to my younger sister when I saw her last weekend and it reminded her of some great stories from when she had to serve hambeasts at McDonald's when she was 16 so I thought I'd share some here:
The most difficult item to make at McDonald's was definitely the dip cones because the ice cream had to be stacked just perfectly so it didn't fall into the chocolate when they turn it upside down to dip it. As a result, there was no way to really make them quickly and several hangry beetus monsters yelled at my sister for taking too long. One particular afternoon she was working up front and this planet of a woman (easily 350+ lbs) drags itself in with 5 mini moons in its orbit that were wearing too tight baseball uniforms( seriously though, what is it about chubby kids and baseball/softball?). It ordered 6 large dip cones and my sister began making them one by one and handing them to this beetus monster who kept screaming at my sister about how they were hungry and she needed to hurry up with their ice cream the entire time. As my sister handed off the sixth and final dip cone, this whale looks her in the eye and asks, "well aren't you going to give me some napkins for these?" So my sister, without breaking eye contact, grabs a stack of napkins and wipes off her own ice cream covered hands and then gives the used napkins to the customer.
