I was out to eat with my son (5yo) and my daughter (18 months) at a low-end chain establishment. There was a ham family of 4 sitting at a table across the aisle from us. They had every imaginable unhealthy item this restaurant had to offer (nachos, mozz sticks, burgers, fries, dessert, etc.). They each must have had about double my day's calorie intake in one sitting. I am not lying. My son, who's 5, says out loud, "their food isn't very healthy, mommy". I nodded my head in agreement. They look over and give a semi-stink eye. Then he says, even louder, "that's why they're fat, right?". I said "yes. Too much food will make you fat". At this point, ham planet mother looks directly at me and I could feel the daggers and impending blubbering bullshit that was about to spew from its mouth. I turn directly to it, look it in the eye, and say "he's not wrong and I'm not going to correct him". It scowled, turned around and continued shoveling some chocolate dessert into its face.
My son is awesome.
