I'm spending a minimum of 3 months in Rishikesh this winter...I'm really hoping it's a break from quite so many obeasts. I live in Tucson, Arizona and...damn. It's pathetic. Luckily (at least from photos) there aren't a ton a fatties at the school I'm going to! Not surprising since you get kicked out for missing one class and the schedule goes from about 5:30 am to 9:00 pm 5 days a week and half days on Saturday. No fat has that kind of dedication, haha.

However, the last few sentences you wrote...that's what I'm worried about. I'm super pale, freckled, blue eyes, and red hair. I don't exactly blend in...

Rishikesh is beautiful and there are a lot of great hiking opportunities in Uttarakhand. The creepers are worse anywhere you expect to find tourists but the vast majority of people are respectful and friendly. People recognize me on my runs, now, and wave or offer high-fives. Kids race me.

And they lose.

I love it. I'm honestly so excited to go! It's something I'd been working towards for a few years.
And that's true. Creepers are bad in any tourist destination. People just like to fill me with negative stereotypes since I'm going alone...everyone who's actually gone to India, though, has only had amazing things to say about it and its people. I definitely plan on integrating myself into the culture and making the most out of living, however temporarily, in am entirely different place than I'm used to.

That sounds absolutely precious with the children racing you, haha. I'm so happy you're having such a great experience!
