It's like they have put the concept of weight loss and healthy lifestyles at odds with body positivity. This shouldn't be. Body positive concepts should coincide with a healthy lifestyle. It reminds me of in college, when I was balls deep in feminist philosophy and authors like Rae Langton. I believed that in order for a woman to have a relationship she had to reconcile the fact that there was no way one could be a sexual being without some level of sexual objectification. It spiraled downward like this and I isolated myself from any type of sexual relationship in some sort of strict avoidance of objectification. I was making the mistake of putting sexual relationships at odds with a loving emotional/mental relationship. By my senior year I had meditated on it for so long and recognized that to reconcile sexual objectification, sexual relationships and mental/emotional relationships HAD to coincide. It made one hell of a drawn out senior thesis presentation about the sexual lives of our generation.
Anyway, point is, body positivism cannot exist in a silo without a healthy lifestyle.
