It's so weird when that happens. When I first got in to lifting there were a few times my paranoia tricked me into thinking I'd lost some mass, and end up overeating for nothing.
Lots of googling fixed that. Only weigh myself once a week now, because it's still a bit strange to see myself go up/down up to 7lbs every other day.

I weigh myself every morning, first thing after I use the toilet and before I eat or drink anything. This helps keep the measurements consistent. Since I do it so often, each individual data point loses its importance. I record it in My Fitness Pal and just pay attention to the trend line.

It takes some getting used to. Now if it's particularly hot I'll weigh myself right before a run because I think it's funny to drop 12 pounds in an hour. All water weight of course.
