I'm ashamed to say it but I do enjoy chubby cats. Completely obese cats are really sad though.

I rescued a cat that was overweight and have been working really hard to get her to lose weight. She's down six pounds and is almost there.

This is very true, almost all of the pets I encountered that were fat had fat owners, animals in a domestic environment do not have the capability to think for themselves and make decisions like we do, get a shit owner and you'll get a shit pet

To be fair, my parents cat is fat because its way too sociable, and stops by every house on the block and gets fed by everyone. My parents don't overfeed it at all.

Really? #effyourbeautystandards for a fucking cat? Cats are nowhere near as sensitive and vain as your assholes, they give zero shits how they look.

I don't think fat pets are adorable. I think they're being abused and neglected.

When my dog developed hip problems she started to gain weight. We changed her diet. It's not that hard to take care of yourself, or your pets.

I moved state last year, and my cats came with me. Once I settled them into our new place, they all went to the new vet one-by-one, as they needed it. At my previous house, there was a huge garden and lots of other houses with gardens, so they would run around all day. New place has less outdoor space and is much colder, so they sit around a lot more. A year later, I took one of them to the vet to get his teeth removed (all my cats are rescues- he needed them out for a year but I couldn't afford the $2000), and was told he had put on a kilo! Cats are all on diets now, and I'm forcing them out of the house for a few hours every day and playing with them more.

I've never thought of this, but with 4 cats and lots of food bullying going on (I have to stand guard!), I'm not sure it would work.
