Also, I would like to add I ordered that stupid dress two sizes BIGGER than the size her mother told me she wore. (Yes, I had to message her mother to get her size.)

You would've been screamed at even if it was too big.

[–] TheBlueMarker [S] 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

Probably so. Although the dress manufacturer didn't make too many sizes bigger than what I had to order for her.

Either the daughter lied to her mom or her mom is delusional.

I think they're both delusional, personally.

So despite my gut telling me it was a bad idea to make her my m-o-h, I did anyway because we had been "friends" longer (as I explained in the photo.) BIG mistake. I regret it to this day (and it's been years!!!) I've apologized to my (real) bestie multiple times, and deeply regret my decisions.

TL;DR: My maid of honor refuged to buy the dress I had picked out for the bridesmaids to wear, and later moaned about it.

Edit: added a TL;DR

If it's not too late, I think it's time you replaced your MOH. Imagine how terrible she'll be at the wedding!

Too late. Wedding was years ago. However, she has been exiled out of my life, and I feel better for it.

Real best is still with you. Time to show them that they are your best friend.

I hooked her up with her current man, and they were (not much) later married. But yeah, after all that fiasco, I do try and treat her nicely and appreciate her BMI of 22 lol.

She let her vanity and pride get in the way of her best friend's wedding? Wow.

But on the bright side, you're a shitlord.

Honestly, it's because of her that I am.

That's one of the things they don't understand about why we just hate. Many of us had a fat friend or family member to whom we tried to be kind, maybe even tried to help lose weight.

But sooner or later the fatty is gonna fat and shit like this happens. You find out that your fat friend cares way more about twinkies than it does you or anyone else.

But this story, repeated so many times, has a silver lining as it usually ends in the birth of a true shitlord.

Shitlording is an inevitable consequence of fatness.

My spouse has a picture of the wedding party in a frame, and I slid the picture to the left until she was not visible.

Sorry you had such a shitty MOH and friend.. That's terrible.

Urgh, what an execrable excuse for a friend. I thought it was universally understood that at a wedding, you put your personal shit aside to be there for the happy couple in whatever way they need.

None of this "muh fee-fees made me embarrassed" bs is any damn excuse.

Sorry you had to endure her crap TheBlueMarker!

Meanwhile my bestie was going through the end of a terrible long term relationship and later told me she withheld this because she didn't want to bother me!

Drinking water, eh? She's really setting some pretty lofty goals. I mean that's something which has only been achieved by 99.99999% of every living thing on earth since the dawn of life itself. No wonder she mentions that she's only trying to, rather than actually achieving such a difficult task. I mean combined with "walking"? Whew!

Sarcasm aside, it's also crazy that she's so unabashedly talking about having her mom do all that for her. "I'll have mommy do it!" should be embarrassing to admit in high school. Let alone at an age when friends are getting married. But I think just as shameful is the fact that she's obviously got a need to pick up that skill. She's got the opportunity. Why hasn't she learned to sew if she has a willing teacher right there? How can someone admit to not having the willingness to pick up a needed skill while also talking about how unfair a sterotype it is to think fat people are lazy?

You know, I've been having issues getting my BF low enough for my abs to really 'pop' out, maybe I should try this "drink some water and walk a bit" diet I've heard so much about.

Haha because it's so obviously working well for her. /s

She could be the definition of lazy. When we were teens, she told me she didn't like to walk because she got sweaty.

I went to a very nice wedding recently which had 4 beautiful bridesmaids. The bride has five sisters. The fifth one (a physician for fucks sake) is a planet and had the grace to RESIGN FROM THE WEDDING PARTY BECAUSE SHE KNOWS SHE LOOKS LIKE SHIT. Sometimes life works out.

[–] TheBlueMarker [S] 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Don't you love when that happens? The bride probably felt obligated to ask all five to be bridesmaids but was secretly wanting the ham to drop anyway.
