So I belong to a gym that is overall amazing. It is mostly for athletes who need some cross training, so we have runners, football players, and so on. Well now, we have this one fatty. Apparently she's an "athlete" or can't read what the gym is for. Annoying, but not the reason i need to vent. My husband and I work out together after work. He can kill a workout, but also has stomach issues, similar to IBS, so sometimes he needs bathroom breaks. Our trainer knows and doesn't say anything. Fatty works out for 15 min then, red in the face, sits for the rest of the 45 min behind the desk (classes are an hour). After the workout fatty says to husband that the workout is hard, but at least she didn't spend 20 min in the bathroom. I wanted to hit her. She is too fat to even run without snapping her knees, so she walks while we run sprints, and she's talking shit? Fuck you fatty, get out of my gym so I can go back to enjoying my workouts.
I am also taking suggestions for bitchy things I can say that won't get me kicked out of the gym (owner is a super nice/kind guy so I can't just rage). Anything backhanded or sounding helpful would be perfect.

Report that ham to the owner, and tell him how condescending and arrogant it is.
Get it kicked out, it doesn't belong there.

This was going to be my recommendation. Report what she said and if report any other things like that. Totally not cool for anyone to be commenting on anyone else's workout experience.

or anyone else's bathroom experience(s)

Would this work, in all seriousness?

Chances are the OP and her husband have been going to that gym for a while and have built up a pretty good rep with employees/management/owners. Hammy is more than likely either new or an infrequent gym goer who is either relatively unknown or beginning to get on everyone's nerves.
So, with this in mind (and weight aside at the moment), who would you side with: the customers who keep coming back, bring in a good deal of income and generally get along with everyone, or a singular newcomer who's being accused of harassing and/or making the former clients uncomfortable?

"A little bathroom break doesn't seem to have a negative effect on his results." Then eyeball your husband appreciatively. Then eyeball her speculatively, with a slight head-tilt of condescension. Nothing like a little bit of jealousy to bring on the whale tears.

This. Make sure you put an emphasis on the HIS results while looking at him dreamily, before turning to look at her with a look of disgust.

Gotta love those non-verbals.

"At least I didn't spend 20 min in the bathroom" - "Smells like you should have."

Here it is. This^.

Next time she sits out for most of the class, you should just ask her in the nicest voice you can conjur, "You need a bathroom break?"

Maybe try throwing up? This working out thing doesn't seem to be working for you.

You are nicer than i am, i wouldve probly came out with "fuck off fatty" before i knew what i was saying.

God. I'm just waiting for that to happen to me IRL. It's a mixture of trepidation and a bit of excitement at the shitstorm it will likely cause. Also, hoping that I'm not trapped so I can't briskly walk out of range.

Pull their own crap against them. Go to management, let them know your husband has a real medical condition and that she attacked and shamed him. Have them make her apologize for harassing someone with a legitimate medical condition.

Downside of a shit lord gym where our trainer is the owner. Owner knows about husband, but wouldn't give a shit about "shaming". I'm always for using the HAES buzzwords against them though.

If she says the work out is hard again, just say in the nicest, most condescending fake voice, "Aww, keep your chins up, sweetie"
But I doubt she'll be there for long. She'll probably give up soon anyway.
[–] mithlover [S] 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
I really wish I could say that without laughing. I'm sure you are right that she won't be there long, unless all the selfies and online proving she's an athlete keep her going.

"My husband has an intestinal disease. Not any of those fake cundishuns you probably have".
