Agreed. More balls than most. It needed to be done. Better sooner than later.

Told me she had issues with anorexia. She's 5'7 and said her max weight was 170 -- not healthy at all.

How long were you dating? Not a lot of girls would be so open about their eating disorders with someone they've just started a relationship with. Call it a hunch, but she may have been trying to give an excuse/get pity from you. It took me a year and a half before I felt confident enough in my relationship to tell my SO about my struggles with AN during middle school/high school. And most friends I still have from treatment feel the same way. It's not something you just bring up casually; sort of like histories of depression or addiction. I'm also skeptical because it's VERY rare for someone who recovered from AN to become overweight. It takes a lot of willpower to allow yourself to be within normal BMI, let alone over 25 BMI.

Some may disagree, but this is my personal experience. If she had issues with anorexia, she should know a fuck ton about nutrition. A lot of times with EDs (considering it's an absolute obsession with nutrition and food and calories and so on), people will intensively study nutrition so they can try to learn how to manipulate it to lose weight at dangerously fast paces.

Even if all of the tricks are bogus, you still wind up learning a lot about nutrition. She should've known how to not get fat then.

edit: just read above, and it sounds like she does have it. Still, if she's aware she does, I'd assume she's very aware of how nutrition works.

Good call on the dumping. She probably would have used this warning as an excuse when you became unhappy when she ballooned up.

You're right man. It's like if I accepted her saying she is probably going to gain weight then in her mind I'm giving her permission.

I knew a girl who would lose weight to get a guy, and as soon as she had a boyfriend she'd gain weight. Then after they broke up she'd get fit again, and it would just keep repeating.
