Just fat certainly, but its the same kind of hydrocarbon chains that everyone else is made of once you remove the glycerin and carboxyl groups. A fairly simple refinery could make fuel that is safe to use.

I had a cousin who used to use some type of used cooking oil to fuel her car. Her car ended up smelling a lot like french fries.

I once heard of a liposuction surgeon who used the fat to power his car. It was illegal it worked, apparently.

If you took all the fat people in the world, lopped all their fat off we could stop using gas for years to come

Then you're gonna see the oil giants assassinating fat people and dumping them in the ocean so everyone is forced to use oil. Actually that would be a good thing even still.

So they can continue stuffing their faces, rationalising away any guilt they might have?

No thanks, I prefer the idea of 'soylent green' style factories, that recycle the dead for electricity

Here's a fun calculation you'll appreciate then. A normal woman Tess Munster's size has about ~20 pounds of fat on her. The human body has an estimated efficiency of 25%, so the amount of usable energy is 0.25x20x3500x4186=73 million Joules. This is enough energy to carry her 60kg mass straight up 124 km. This is slightly out of the stratosphere, the second layer of the atmosphere.

Now done with Tess Munster who has gotta weight 400 pounds, 300 of which is fat, we get .25x300x3500x4186=1.1 billion Joules. This is enough energy to lift her 180 kg mass 623 km straight up. This is the Exosphere, the outermost layer of our atmosphere, or basically outer space.

So by comparison, a normal woman has enough fat energy on her body to lift her into the 2nd layer of the atmosphere. Tess Munster has enough to lift her own body into fucking outer space.

I'd rather use pig fat soap than hamplanet fat soap.

I did the conversions into metric, and realised that most of this post is taken up with calculations caused by using gallons and pounds. If you use SI units, a kilo or litre of either fat or petrol is about equivalent. If your car does about 12km on a litre of petrol, it'll do nearly as much on a litre or kilo of fat.

I'm tempted to calculate this in furlongs per stone now...

edit: 336 Furlongs per Stone

You can also burn fat by riding a bike...

Hmmmm... what if there was a law passed that said you're not allowed to drive a car or be driven by someone else if your BMI and body fat percentage are over a certain level?

Let's say it takes 600 calories to travel 15 miles in one hour on a bike. That would be 87.5 miles per pound! Very nice.

If we started chasing down grease goblins and liposuctioning off their fupas, we'd have pretty much unlimited fuel. It's not like the fupa won't be back in a few weeks from eating the entire mcdonalds menu in a day, every day.
