Food bans have been tried in several places and worked in none. This is unsurprising because it doesn't address the problem. Soft drink doesn't make people fat. Stupid fucks and a lack of direct consequences makes them fat. You're not going to solve a problem caused by a lack of personal responsibility by removing yet more personal responsibility in the form of blaming chips for existing. You're going to get government-mandated rations from a bread line before you solve obesity by vilifying and taxing foods.
