butter, especially grass fed butter, is much healthier for you than most veggie oils. Higher in omega 3s. Olive oil and a few others are the exception.

all that bad science from the last century about how saturated fats (animal fats) are bad for you turned out to be garbage. Even the fda finally admitted it.

Classic example in my opinion of portion control. Nothing wrong with a bit of butter just don't do a homer Simpson and wrap a stick of it in a waffle and consume. I caught my brother eating cubed butter as is (just butter...) I was mortified. He's pretty swole but still.. It was just wrong. So, so wrong.

I don't think butter is healthy at all - do you have a recent study to back up your claim?

I think what was established is that fat in and of itself was not the cause of the obesity epidemic but to claim that there is nothing wrong with dairy or animal fats is wide of the mark.

The problem with a lot of the information that we as consumers receive is that so much of it is funded by beneficiary parties - many studies are nothing better than marketing papers written by shameless 'academics'.

I don't think anyone went as far as to say fats were good for you. Just that they aren't really as evil as we thought when consumed in safe doses and combined with an active lifestyle.

Butter is not an evil food. That's what people on the farm were eating in the last century.
