"See? We eat the same! We each have these things called meals! Not only that, we each have 'Breakfast' in the morning, 'Lunch' only an hour or so after we eat, then we each eat 'Dinner' at night! We even have 'Snacks" throughout the day! See, we eat the same things. It's just impossible for me to lose weight because clearly I got all the bad genetics from our parents."

Who are both normal weight btw- and not just that but my Dad used to run marathons despite a chronic bad back, and my Mom once slipped on ice and fractured two vertebrae in her neck (although no spinal cord damage thank fuck) and even then she didn't pile on much weight. Maybe 5 pounds tops from a year in a metal brace unable to perform even normal daily tasks? They aren't shitlords and they do spoil her because she's the baby, but they aren't lazy or greedy or fat. They've brought her to every dietician they can find, and she's been gifted dozens of gym/fitness class memberships but she's just a greedy lazy shit.

I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to imply your parents were fat. I was taking in that because you've said that both you and your pregnant sister weren't overweight, and that you made no mention of either your parents being overweight nor that you and pregnant sister were overweight as children (especially seeing how how your sister raises her own children; ie. the fish pie), you were probably raised with a proper diet. That and I was tying in the circlejerk "genetics" excuse to the post; as well as my own personal experience where my sister did end up getting all the bad genetics from my parents (Acid reflux; lactose intolerance, IBD, and probably about another 15 allergies that are common across my family pool) whereas I got no of those problems.

But again, sorry if I came across as insulting your parents.

And remember, mass+energy conservation is a total myth. You couldn't possibly compensate for a more efficient metabolism by eating less than others.

If I ate a professional athlete's diet I wouldn't look like one...

Michael Phelps comes to mind when hearing things like the above graphic.

When I am cycling, there is no limit to what I can eat. Seriously can not eat enough. Press food to face, repeat. Fuck the fats.

Just one question, you said that the children get no salt in their food? That seems somewhat too much to me. I mean potatoes without any salt at all kinda taste lame.

Yeah I agree but they don't seem to notice. I think my sister thinks they get enough sodium in cereal and bread and stuff.

Oh well. I mean it's good food alright, but spices, well... spice things up. I mean at least it's not Ronald McDonald's shit.

Little kids have a different palate. Their taste buds are more sensitive. When I season something for my own preferences, it tastes waaay over seasoned to my 4-year-old. This moderates over time - my 10-year-old seasons things close to the way his dad does. Of course, this natural process of maturation can be short-circuited by feeding your children nothing but processed trash.

True, I know that. Of course I don't know how old the kids are in the household. I thought of like 10-14 year olds. If they are younger it of course makes sense.

I fucking hate how people ruin fruits and vegetables with butter and sugar. This is my dad right here. When he would make dinner he would ruin the broccoli with butter, never giving anyone a fucking choice. I'd pass it up for a salad instead. Sorry, this reminded me of that when I read about the strawberries.

butter, especially grass fed butter, is much healthier for you than most veggie oils. Higher in omega 3s. Olive oil and a few others are the exception.

all that bad science from the last century about how saturated fats (animal fats) are bad for you turned out to be garbage. Even the fda finally admitted it.

Classic example in my opinion of portion control. Nothing wrong with a bit of butter just don't do a homer Simpson and wrap a stick of it in a waffle and consume. I caught my brother eating cubed butter as is (just butter...) I was mortified. He's pretty swole but still.. It was just wrong. So, so wrong.

I don't think butter is healthy at all - do you have a recent study to back up your claim?

I think what was established is that fat in and of itself was not the cause of the obesity epidemic but to claim that there is nothing wrong with dairy or animal fats is wide of the mark.

The problem with a lot of the information that we as consumers receive is that so much of it is funded by beneficiary parties - many studies are nothing better than marketing papers written by shameless 'academics'.

Your taste buds change if you eat a buttload of sugar most of your life. I HATED the taste of fruit. I always thought it was bland. That's mostly because my mother/grandparents didn't feed me much fruit besides the raspberries in the backyard. Even then they would coat it in sugar.

23 years old, lives with her parents and expects them to pay for everything. This is literally every drug addict that I know at some point. Except her drug is food.

The only socially acceptable addiction is food addiction. If it was drugs, alcohol, tobacco you can rail on a person and everyone around would support you. Do the same to a food addict and everyone jumps your shit coming to the food addicts defense.

Yeah, I don't get it. If you drink until you damage your liver, everyone knows you have a problem. If you eat until you lose your feet, it's genetics.

Wow... the stupidity is strong with this one. Come on everyone knows it's what you eat and not how much!! I second, Fuck fat people, she sounds like she going to die in her mid 30's in your folks house.

Yeah Shitlady sister and I have already discusses it at length. It's one thing helping your folks into diapers when they can't look after themselves but we won't be doing it for her. She's made her choices.

I feel it's very hard for them to face the truth. It's a lot easier to be delusional and blame something else. It's especially hard watching family do it to themself.
