I live in Australia and things tend to be expensive here. The apartment was mid range, but I'll make money moving to a bigger house because rural property is crazy cheap. I don't even care about the price, though. I just want peace and quiet.

Aww you are after my own heart. Keep it simple keep it peaceful and keep it quiet.

You're set up for liquidity as the area grows up and property becomes more valuable.

Thats fucking dedication

Now if you need a contractor husband with Aussie like humor to go at a thing... I am currently on the market 😋

Congratulations and goddammit bust out the bubbly!

I'm actually thinking about finding a town that's dying. I don't want to move somewhere only for it to get too big over the years. Ideally I would buy a small farming property so I don't have neighbours, so I have some land to play with, and so you can only find me by knowing about an obscure, unmarked exit from a distant highway. The problem is that the fibre broadband network doesn't extend beyond the towns. I'll have to see how good the wireless internet is or settle for a house in a town. As long as I have enough space for a greenhouse, it should be alright.
