That's my whole point. The virus will spread further than 1.5m through a sneeze and through other methods than 1.5m proximity. You're probably more likely to pick it up from the card machine or a handrail or a trolley. I mean, the bird might be carrying a non-covid disease more deadly and no one thinks about it because there is no media hysteria.
If you're really scared of the flu, then this distancing is completely useless because the logic is that, as soon as you dip to 1.4m from someone, you've got it, and does anyone seriously believe they are maintaining >1.5m at all times? Where did 1.5m come from anyway and why are we so sure that's the threshold? It's a token measure that does little to nothing is reality. If you're really worried about getting sick, you wouldn't be in line at Wal-Mart even outside of the flu season. The fact that people are there shows they aren't really concerned about a cold and so standing like robots just makes you look dumb.

I wonder if Chinese people eat pigeons too.
After thinking for less than a second I would say, that yes, they probably do.

Yes, the virus will spread more than 1,5m from a sneeze. Honestly I think the "logic" behind the spacing is more to keep everyone orderly than Nything else. That being said, I kinda like the idea of it- I dont have to be so close to the butter barges and have a right to throw a fit if they try to get too close.
