If you are miserable because of your unhealthy body and as a result of the poor lifestyle habits that earned it, then yes, becoming thin will make you feel a lot better because in order to become thin you must undo the healthy habits and teach your body to become healthy. It's not rocket science. And while there are more important things than being "not fat" it really does rank fairly high on the list of priorities, given that the damage caused by obesity is compounded with age. I love how these types always make it a false choice between either being thin and fit or being happy and fulfilled. Like, golly gee, you really can't be both? I think they know you can be both and it pisses them off to see other women succeed where they have so far been failing. So they undermine. Those damn skinny bitches. They're shallow. They're vain! They're wasting their lives and only focused on their looks and what others think of them. They're insecure and that's why they run/do yoga/lift/eat healthy. Fuckin' diet culture and those shitty ass skinny bitches. eyeroll

She's right that you won't be more important or talented when you're thin. But you will probably be happier because you'll feel better, and you will definitely be more attractive and more "deserving" of that label.
