I like experimenting with odd foods a lot and the Americans are very good at producing such oddities. But "biscuits" is something I have never understood. I have thought about making it a few times and then I look at the recipe ingredients and it looks fucking terrible. I had to do a search for what a grilled cheese skillet biscuit is, and again, it looks interesting, but your recipe doesn't make my mouth water. Can you help me understand the appeal of this food? Is it actually something good that comes from flour and butter? It just strikes me as being so bland. I need something to cook this weekend so convince me.

Good home made biscuits are good. Restaraunt biscuits are garbage. I almost never eat any kind of bread, but one exception ill make on occasion is if im at my parents house around breakfast. My mom is always trying to fatten me up. One trick i wont miss is when she makes biscuits and gravy. She uses rendered bear fat for the shortening, and elk sausage for the gravy. Its delicious. Bear fat makes fantastic biscuits and pie crusts. Excellent for making soap too.

Well, for starters, they aren't my favourite, but I hadn't had them in a long time, so I was looking forward to it.
I suppose it is the very blandness and simplicity of it which appeals. The buttery saltiness is pleasant, and the texture can be enjoyable provided you don't mess up and make a crumbly flour mess. In my case, I usually eat very spiced foods, so perhaps it is the break from my 'usual'. I can't make a great case for biscuits because.. they aren't super great. If I had to eat them everyday I would detest them. I suppose it is the breaking of the norm. So, I can't really do much convincing. However, I will say that one can flavour them with dill and other spices, and perhaps add seeds or something.
That and that they are a 'comfort food'.

Hmm. Seems like I still can't see myself doing it. Also, mayo and provolone? I can't imagine how that tastes good. I think I'll stick to stir fries and meat. LOL.
