God, YES. Exactly what I was about to say! Go to Michaels's website and click "Contact," and send them an email. Make sure you include the store number (should be on your receipt) and date & time of day (also on receipt). If the fat was the one who checked you out or you remember her name, make sure you tell them.

You can mention that you're in high school, because you can say you feel she was being rude and condescending due to your age, as if you did not deserve her time or respect, and that you were embarrassed to be treated like that in front of other customers and employees and it made you extremely uncomfortable in that store. Tell them that you hate to mention it, but their employee had clearly not bathed in some time and the smell made the experience even more uncomfortable. Tell them you're a regular shopper and have never had an experience like that there but it's made you feel like you, as a young woman, are not welcome and maybe you should start going to Hobby Lobby/JoAnn/(insert name of whatever other craft store is near you) instead. They do NOT want to lose a potential customer-for-life.

And above all else, make sure you point out that this woman told you the store didn't even carry that product, yet you found it there. So their employee basically tried to send you to another store because she couldn't be bothered to learn their stock or even try to help you. Ask if it is now Michael's policy to simply send people to other stores rather than help them?

Make sure you mention that after the woman told you that your legitimate question, and helping you, was "not worth her time," she turned around and practically bowed and scraped in front of a group of middle-aged women, which made it even more obvious that their employee thinks young people are not worth being nice to and doesn't treat all of their customers the same.

Write and send that IMMEDIATELY.

(If you want, you can post a draft here in comments; I--and others, I'm sure--would be happy to proofread it and/or make suggestions for you, if you feel uncomfortable or are worried it won't sound right. I say that because of your disclaimers, not because I think anything was wrong with your post.)

Aside from that...I'm so sorry that happened to you, and I'm sorry to say we've ALL had and continue to have experiences like that with fats who work in customer service. If you're thin AND pretty, it's even worse. Think of it as proof of your own value and attractiveness, and try not to let it bother you--and complain as often as you can about it, because they deserve it. {{{hug}}}

Thank you I love using this forum to let out my anger with fats I'm pretty good at just letting things not bother me but some of these fat asses really get on my nerves! You are so sweet and helpful I'm sending you a virtual hug. I'm using your template right now to send an email!

How'd it go, did you send it off?

And sorry, I didn't reply to say you're very welcome! I'd hoped my reply might be useful/give you some ideas for your email to them.
