Heh, my husband and I used to regularly talk about getting an old beater car and deliberately swerving into bad drivers, parking even worse then the worst parkers, etc. etc. It became this whole fantasy where we'd don crash helmets to make ourselves look especially crazy, keep the windows rolled down, and screech at the top of our lungs as we tried to "scare straight" the assholes on the road. This was in South Florida, where the roads are full of assholes--and where the cops won't even show up if the other driver does less than about $1k damage to your car, so it would have been pretty safe.

We never actually did it, but every once in a while we still think of it.

I'm sorry about your old girl. May she RIP.

Ha, that could have been fun.

The old girl's 21 and becoming unreliable and too expensive to fix. Time to go.

Thats the most Floridian comment I’ve read all week. Sounds fun though!

I've had similar fantasies. Very similar. But we never envisioned helmets.

Maintaining your lane and not being forced to make race car maneuvers to avoid being hit is a constant in some areas of California. SF and LA being the worst, but a remarkable number of smaller towns as well. My vehicle of choice was always a Brinx truck for some reason.

Back when commuter flights were crazy expensive we'd fly out of LAX or SFO and had an old Honda we used for this and transporting pets to the vet, kennel and dog grooming. It was too small for bold acts on the highway but it fun to park haphazardly and not worry about door dings.

Oh, yeah, I've been to LA a few times. I remember the roads well. :-)

One of these days we'll do it. We'll have a big get-together and we'll all get in old beaters and see how many rude, badly driving fats we can clip. Special flair for the winning team! :-) Eh, @CarsandSarcasm?
