People get surprised about me riding my bike 5 miles to get somewhere instead of driving meanwhile the bike segment of Ironman is 150.

When I started riding more often I was totally shocked at how easy five or seven miles was. I'm on a 24" BMX cruiser, too.

Yeah then on modern narrow smooth tires 10+ becomes easy.

This gets me all the time. We are so perfectly built for running and our theoretical peak is so high that it's just embarrassing the attitudes people have towards any exercise. I am a member of a species with this kind of ceiling and yet people look at me like I grew a tail when I tell them I walk 5km to work instead of driving like a lazy shit. People are shocked like that is some amazing effort or a feat of endurance. There are people who probably go their whole lives without walking 5km in one go. It's such a waste.

I was in London on that day . I skipped the cheering runners to go to the british museum.

Want to be a record holder?
Step 1: Become fatter than Raging Chestpain
Step 2: Waddle a Marathon at your leisure. Feel free to eat chips and drink beer on the way.

"I'm not like those other fatties, I'm a smallfat, teehee, I don't need a walker yet. Someday though! Someday soon!"
...there was a day when that was an exaggeration. It's where they're headed. Pretty soon that leisurely walk will be considered fat shaming and what the fuck do they call it now? Able shaming?

That's pretty cool.
And for those fats who couldn't even run around the block, running fifty miles is not twice as hard as two marathons. Each mile becomes exponentially more difficult. And no, their ten thousand walks from the xxxxl recliner to the fridge is not the same.
I am amazed and impressed with what the human body is capable of accomplishing.

It’s ducking incredible. Especially those in the 70+ age group that finish.
