Well, it's basically a large flesh wound if it's just cosmetic skin surgery and their not pulling the rectus ab muscles together so in terms of healing advice:
Eat maintainance calories, consider a slight surplus coming from protein and gelatine (there's studies that show gelatin plus vitamin C improves collagen synthesis which is what the body lays down as it starts knitting things back together).
Stay hydrated, pretty obvious why.
I'd take the docs advice on how soon you can start bouncing around post op, general day to day walking around and relatively static exercise to promote blood flow always helps. I'd definitely check how soon you can start light stretching and foam rolling as this can help minimise scar tissue formation (if muscle is being cut, skin wise not a whole lot you can do bar vitamin topical lotion and or bio oil once the skin has made a proper barrier)
Anything else I can think of is more to do with injuries to muscles/bone and that's more involving inflammation modulation.
