The family is asking that people leave donuts in the crater instead of flowers. They need snacks for the walk back to their cars.

Missing a lot of information. How much did she weigh? Was she over the rides weight limit yet the camp staff still let her on? Was she screaming and crying, "OPPRESSION!" for them to let her on? What happened to the 2 other normal humans with her? Justice to the parents for enabling their child to get fat!

Remember people! Fat, not even once!

Someone posted an a more complete article below. The swing was a 3 person swing that goes really high. It was not regulated by the state with weight limits because it was at a ropes course (?). However if you watch the video of the 3 guys below there is NO WAY anyone over 200 lbs should go on that type of ride.

Most zipline and canopy places have strict weight limits. I went to one and they weighed a couple people who looked suspicious and caught them lying about their weight.

I noticed the same thing when I went ziplining and horseback riding on vacation. Two planets lied about their weight when they signed up for the tour and were both booted. Good thing too since two horses would have struggled to carry even one of them.

This is a repost. However i'll take the opportunity to post a clever comment

The two thin people who rode with her should sue the camp for putting their lives in danger by forcing them to ride with the fat beast due to the camp being so Pro Fat Acceptance.

What do you mean? It's so sad... Now the other kids don't have a rope swing. :(

I've been seeing this everywhere since yesterday, and it's interesting how none of the news sites are pointing out the obvious: that this girl clearly exceeded the weight limit to use the rope swing safely. This wasn't some tragic freak accident that requires an investigation, this was just several hundred pounds of blatant stupidity squeezed into a rope swing... she was obese and gravity won. Case closed.

That's why most canopy and zipline places don't allow anyone over 200 lbs. I went last year to zipline in Mindo, and two obeasts that were supposed to be in our group when they claimed to be under 200 lbs but the guide called bullshit and weighed them. Each one was well over 250 and would have put us all in danger because of their selfishness.

Exactly my thoughts. I'm 29 and most people still think I'm 18.
