Fat girls online love to yell about so-called "diet culture" but what and where exactly is it? We live in a society where you can buy 100 chicken nuggets for $10 at Burger King. Where chain restaurants regularly have unlimited fries/shrimp/appetizers. Sodas get free refills by default. The shamrock shake has a cult following. A burger at a restaurant is routinely a third pound or bigger. We're encouraged to eat at movies, sporting events, concerts. Kids meals come with toys. There are over 20 different kinds of Oreos. Buffets exist.
Turn on a TV. How many commercials come on for fast food? How many come on for diets or weight-loss? (Hint: it's only Hydroxycut pills and WeightWatchers commercials that come on sporadically versus over 12 junk food commericals an hour.

And once you've stuffed your ass to the point where you need to buy new clothes, you needn't worry about shame; everything is now vanity sized. Everything is stretch material (seriously though, why is everything (at least everything women's) mixed with spandex these days?). Every store has a plus sized section. What used to be considered "normal" is now seen as an unattainable body. The obesity rate in the US is 39.8%!
We live in a culture of absolute excess and gluttony. Unhealthy food is everywhere you go: happy hour, networking events, the beach. We eat fucking funnel cake on the beach.
Where is this diet culture? What are they yelling about? Someone please elaborate.

It's another boogie man to scare people away from reasonable eating while surrounded by an unnatural food environment. More self destructive Marxist propaganda and the HAMPCs are eating it up.

I wouldn't say it's Marxist. This mentality late-stage capitalism at it's finest. "As long as I can afford it, who cares?" is what this is all about. Sure, there are government programs in place that allow poor individuals to get fat, but that's just state-funded capitalism. Consumerism has lead us here and will be our downfall unless the population as a whole can start to show some restraint.

Japan has a similar food environment with advertising but their standards have not been slowly chipped away like the west.
