Hey yall. Just finished my morning Muay Thai lessons awhile ago. It was a pretty good turnout of around a dozen people(morning classes are usually small). However after a few rounds of alternating bag work and leg exercises we got partnered up in pairs. I got partnered up with this overweight black lady. Basically she looks 80% like an aunt of mine, except with a darker skin tone. She had a gut and sandbag tits., bottomline sje was fat like most black people.
So the next portion of class involved padwork combinations. And let me tell you this lady sucked. As a holder she wouldn't hold the Thai pads right(i.e. holding them forward when I threw hooks) and seemed to forget the combos we were doing so it really ruined the groove I had going.
And then when it came time for me to hold, this is where she really sucked. Like I had to bend down pretty low when she did knee strikes or low roundhouses since she (by her own admission) was in bad shape and lacked the hip flexibility to do these simple moves. And when I said to do jabs and crosses, they came out as sloppy punches and her reflexes were bad as she couldn't check kicks right.
And after the class she talked about how she had started training at the gym in March and took 3 weeks off due to personal stuff including a death in the family and that she was gonna "get back into shape". LOL, seriously, you were never in shape to begin with! This is what ticks me off about fat people doing things like martial arts. They don't understand that you are only at your best when you are in good physical condition. They try to use it as a weight loss tool but fail to realize that starting out so in shape really slows it down for your training partners and denies them the experience.

They do it because they see their favorite action star or anime character do martial arts and imagine they are cool like XYZ is.
