Have you all been to or heard of Cyclebar? If not, it is an indoor spin class that has loud music and lights. Honestly it is pretty cool. My wife likes to go to it and I've tagged along a few times. It is severely marketed and attended by women as there were like 4 dudes in the class of 45. Most of the women there are like cycling models or something - holy shit so much yoga pants.
But of course, there are the femayos. I had the misfortune of sitting next to one during the last class. Probably 100 pounds overweight, decked out in nice athletic wear (those yoga pants that have slits on the sides but when your fat it looks like sausage escaping its casing) and exuding this personality that she was some sort of athlete. She kept doing way too much stretching beforehand - like she was trying to prove she can touch her toes or something. Although it's hard to explain I could just tell she thought she was hot shit.
So the class starts and she is keeping up pretty good. Each bike is numbered and there are live stats on the monitors in the front of the room. So I can see, based on the number, how she is doing in relation to the class. Cyclebar seems to favor resistance more than anything in regards to your ranking. The instructor tells the class to turn up or turn down the resistance throughout the class. Well this fat just keeps churning along with a high resistance the majority of the class. I assume fats can use more resistance because there weight pushes down on their legs a lot more than a regular person? So, she starts in the top 5 of the class.
Then she hits a wall and within a few minutes falls to the bottom 5 of the class. She was panting so fucking hard it was uncomfortable for everyone around. She ends up coming in like 39th place or something.
I'm going to go ahead a toot my own horn here because it has never happened to me before...I finished first overall. Not really sure if there was a point to this story but the smugness of any fat doing a workout they think they are pros at just absolutely drives me crazy.

Oh god, I've been meaning to post about cyclebar fats for a while now. I used to go to spin classes there quite a lot and there usually would be one or two fats per class of around 30ish. The lazy ones would normally sit towards the back of the class, so that you can't see them very well. The 'confident' fats sat in the front row, which was very comical (there are mirrors on the front wall of the class, so you see everyone/everything). One, those poor bikes (no wonder some of them were wobbly) and two I was always worried that one day a fat would have a stroke or a heart attack in the class and keel over. Thankfully I haven't witnessed it yet and I joined a Peloton 'cult' so no more dealing with fats in spin classes.
