I'm sorry, but you're an idiot. That is factually incorrect that kneea should never go past toes.

You don't have to call someone an idiot to correct them.

Well it's what I was taught, especially during taxing exercise. If you have an issue then take it up with my instructor, not me. Seemed like sound advice, kinda' like never 'lift with your back'. Or are you going to tell me that, that is also factually incorrect and call me an idiot again? Enjoy your slipped disk, and fucked up knees my guy (girl, toaster, whatever). Also, that article still suggests that it's not the best idea to always let your knees go past your toes, while also saying "it's a myth"? Pick one. Nearly every fitness instructor I have ever met will tell you that it's poor form for letting your knees extend past your toes while in an extended pose. Also I was talking about Martial Arts, not squatting. So fuck off.

Why's it bad? Isn't the point to stretch? Of your knee isn't going past your toes I'd think you wouldn't be stretching as much

Enjoy your anecdotal evidence. I'll enjoy my slipped disks. Great red herring to show how truly incompetent you are.
Literally search squat and lunge mechanics and you'll see that where. The knee goes depends on how people are built. Long femurs, for example, will require a person to put their knees over their toes some in order to execute the lift.
Try being less fucking stupid.

i don't have an educated STANCE HA HA HA either way on the idea of knees-past-toes, but i just want to say that physics are interesting as all hell.
i can see why an overweight/obese person should not let their knees pass their feet. its just SO much weight to shift above the "fulcrum", right? a fit person of a healthy weight shouldn't run into trouble with it though. i just hope the woman in the picture isn't trying to jog or run...
