Their articulation is worse than my toddler's ability, but I think I get what they're trying to say. They're not wrong. Calories are a stupid measurement in the context of obesity. People don't get fat from calories alone. It's the bad calories.

That aside, this has nothing to do with hating fat people.

Nope, it's the calories. It's always been the calories. It's the calories now and it will be the calories tomorrow. If you're wondering about every day after tomorrow, yep, it's still the calories.

Bad calories? Are you hearing yourself right now? Can you define what a bad calorie is? I have taken several health courses and may have skipped the chapter on the fabled "bad calorie."

I suggest reading Good Calories Bad Calories by Gary Taubes.

Obesity is caused, he argues, not by the quantity of calories you eat but by the quality. Carbohydrates, particularly refined ones like white bread and pasta, raise insulin levels, promoting the storage of fat.
