It's pretty worrisome when you look at the amount of influence held by the packaged food industry as a whole. And of course chain restaurants are pretty big too. Might be a bit tinfoil hat. But I really think that's the biggest reason why there hasn't been much of a push for people to cook more. Nobody's making bank selling broccoli. They are selling a big mash of cheap filler with the words "healthy!!" all over it and a couple tiny little pieces of broccoli thrown in.

Meanwhile cooking versions of almost anything at home is often simple, tastes better after a little practice, will have a better nutritional profile and usually far less calories.

tinfoil hat

"Conspiracy theory" becoming an insult is disinfo pushed by government agencies to discredit anyone questioning the narrative. If there is a sickness infecting your society, and you have to question whether or not the powers that be are letting it happen or even promoting it in order to make a profit or accomplish some other agenda, then you're probably right.

I would honestly not be surprised if we find out 40 years down the road that the government deliberately spread some of the actually crazy conspiracy theories (flat earth, chemtrails, reptilians, withholding cancer cure, etc) to help discredit the likely ones
