"B-b-b-uuuut if CICO and BMI are real, it means that weight loss really is possible and that according to BMI... I really am a death fat. I was born this way and this is muh bodays set point because I only eat like 500 calories a day and I still gain ten pounds a month..."

They'll always deny CICO because it holds them accountable for their obesity. If they pretend it doesn't exist than they really don't have control of their weight and its all a condishuns and juhnetiks crapshoot.

It is ironic that they try to pretend it does not exist when you consider their post histories are always them needlessly defending their delusions in irrelevant contexts.

They are fucking retarded. Holy shit. "THE BODY RESPONDS DIFFERENTLY THEREFORE IT IS INVALID." No shit the body responds to certain caloric SOURCES differently, it is called digestion and there are different enzymatic pathways associated with lipids, carbohydrates, and protein. Yet SOMEHOW that is reason enough to declare CICO invalid.

Any sensible person could easily test the effects of calories by gauging what they regularly eat (the control) and then make adjustments (the experiment) and gauge different responses which can then be used to eventually create a plan tailored to your goals. But nope, "a calorie is and is not a calorie therefore LOGIC IS WRONG!"

Calories are literally just a unit of energy. It doesn’t change for you just because you’re a fatty. That’s like saying a meter is a different length for different people...

Love how the whole thread just becomes a hugbox circle jerk of their same tired delusions. I wonder how many responses calling them out on their bullshit were filtered out by their scripts and mods enforcing their safe space.

"CICO gives people a reason to eat a crap diet and think they're getting healthy?" That dipshit's clearly never counted a calorie in its life. One of the reasons why CICO/calorie counting is so great is that it naturally moves you toward healthier foods/ways of preparing foods. I can have a fried chicken breast and large fries for 1200 calories (that's not the real count, I'm just too lazy to look it up atm) and then not be able to afford any more calories that day from drinks or whatever, or I can grill that chicken breast and have it with boiled potatoes for half the calories, and get to have a Coke and a peanut butter cup or whatever after. There are very few low-calorie foods that are "crap," actually. Calorie counting is what made me start to think outside the box as far as eating and food, and what made me realize I didn't have to have french fries every day, that roasted broccoli was a great side to fill up on, that a good portion was not the size of my entire hand.

Which, of course, makes the dipshit's next delusional utterance, that losing weight with a "crap CICO diet" means you're "unlikely to maintain your new weight." Speak for yourself, you fat concern troll. You know how I know you're fat? Because you think calories are "meaningless" and you repeatedly mention eating "lots." You're a pig and you're lying to yourself and others about what you eat. STFU.

ETA: Red Stripe's reply there is gold, though. The "miles" analogy is perfect.

Litres are such a horseshit measurement. For a litre to have any meaning, my car would have to respond to different kinds of litres without distinction. But I know that my car responds differently to a litre of petrol than it does to a litre of diesel. Totally irrelevant capacity measurement.

They are malicious. It's true that metabolism is more complicated, but Kcals from food are a good and useful approximation. But for them seems just an other excuse to over eat.

Anyone who prefers coke to broccoli deserves to get fat.
