I was not offered re-enlistment 1992 for having a BMI of 24.4. Times have changed.

Want to have fewer fat people in the military? Make it even easier to be fat in the military! It's a perfect plan!

The military just want more people. That is why they keep lowering the standards.

Not just standards... Also the amount of shields needed to keep their strong soldiers alive. No way they'll be anything but a human shield if they want to help out best

Jesus Christ it seems like it only gets worse for the military. Good thing we have a ton of high tech shit and stick to shitting on poorly equipped third world countries otherwise we might be in real danger here. Having been an infantryman I can tell you from experience that fat people are fucking useless turds. Scratch that they're not just useless they're a detriment to a unit. At least back when I was in we openly made fun of the fats and made them feel like shit until they lost the weight or got chaptered out.

Google "male 28% body fat". Jesus Christ, those are some fat fucks. Strap em to a bomb and drop them out of a plane.

Army shitlord here, this is complete bullshit. First off, this article is from 2016, talking about policy changes that were supposed to take place in 2017. These policy changes never happened, Army Body Composition Program has not changed in the 5+ years I've been in.

I can't speak for the other branches, but for me I have to stay below 24% body fat (which is stupid easy, currently I'm 18% and that's after gaining some weight last month). When I was younger it was 20% (body fat limit increases as you age). Females have higher body fat limits, I believe it's around 30-34% for them.

The army has a system called the delayed entry program, where civilians who currently do not meet fitness standards (in other words most of them, since the average American is a fat fuck nowadays) can go ahead and enlist, but then they spend a few months training with their local recruiters before shipping off to basic, so the drill sergeants don't kill them. Maybe this is where that 28-38% limit is in place?

24% is still pretty high for a male, IMHO. But some of the fatasses we see here are easily pushing 30%+. My husband's at his highest to date (in his thirties now) at 10%.

As far as women go, 17-25% is what I'd consider healthy. I sit at 21, but I'm probably around 22% right now due to injury. 30-34% BF on a woman is edging, if not already past, the overweight threshold.

Oh My God...let's just redefine everything to accommodate fats. Are we going to be able to recognize our society at this rate? What are they going to do? Make bigger submarines? Make giant seats in tanks? Imagine the battles with the US Fats sitting down every few yards to catch their breath...we're doomed!

28% is well above the recommended upper limit of body fat for women (25%). And this is supposed to be the military! The limit should be more like 20% for women and 10ish% for men. But I guess it's suitable for a fat nation to have a fat army.
