I'm sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences and best of wishes to her family and yours.

My sister has anorexia, and fights to stay in the healthy weight range. It is terrifying to see what it can do to a person, and when one person in a family has it, everybody in that family has it. You all try to fight it, and just do what's best to keep your family together and the one diagnosed healthy as possible. It's crazy how much pressure it puts on families - and it's heartbreaking how devastating it is to the people diagnosed.

Seeing fats try to claim it is despicable. It's disgusting when people use it in jest while demanding you applaud them for wearing shitty "I beat anorexia" shirts.

The heroes are the people who gave all they could to fight a devastating illness. And every moment is a fight. If an anorexia sufferer loses the battle, it does not make them any less valuable. They had no moment of peace from terrifying thoughts and the intense pain from living in a body they deem awful. Seeing fats abuse this struggle is so demeaning... it only makes things harder for them. Fuck fats.

Sorry for your loss. I agree. It pisses me off to no end when these fat fucks claim to be anorexic. MPA has embraced these fat anorexics. Heaven forbid you tell a 5'2" 295 lb female that she's not anorexic. The pitch forks come out fast if you try.

Yeah, I'm anorexic and on MPA too. It's become very PC and anti "fat shaming"; I liked it better when it was very anti-fat. I'm very firm on stating that someone must meet diagnostic criteria to have a mental disorder, and that the DSM still lists severity based on how underweight someone is. People just romanticize anorexia and want the label, despite not having it most of the time.

I really like r/proED. They aren't criteria-strict but at the same time it's a very supportive community of people who are disordered.

I agree. When you see or experience the actual reality of an eating disorder, the very suggestion that someone might pretend to be like that for any reason is despicable. I hate that fats think anything they feel is even remotely comparable. They insult real suffering with no regard or shame.

My deepest condolences for your loss. :c You are on point with how mental illness is not something to label yourself to get attention. People who are truly suffering from mental illness often go a long way to hide it so people don't focus on it. I lost a good friend to mental illness, suicide actually. It's no joking matter.

I'm sorry for your loss. :/

This really scares me. I've spiraled really hard in the last 6 months and am getting to a point where I know I cannot continue to lose any more weight. My BMI is 15.5 yet I get so upset at the thought of gaining that it's a struggle to be okay with 1000-1200 calories.

I hate seeing people fake EDs for attention. It's just such a shitty thing to do.

I don't really have any good advice but let it be known that I hope you can improve and continue to do such. I won't say much about her passing but the air has been heavy since it happened.

What angers me more is the fear mongering among fatties that images of human women somehow encourage girls to starve themselves.

I am so sorry OP. This is a horrible situation for you and the friends and family of your friend.

What really bothers me, is these people (hammies) don't see the struggle people who are seeking treatment for anorexia go through to try and overcome it. The sheer effort and willpower they put in is something hamtards would never even start to imagine, because they lack even a modicum of self control
