Of course, in theory, but by the time most people know they have the condition they’re well into their adulthood, have developed certain eating habits and will not find it easy to start reducing intake and counting calories. So in the ideal world CICO will work on anyone but in the real world it simply isn’t feasible for many people. I don’t know if it’s mental retardation although some days it sure feels like it, probably has more to do with lack of education and impulse control. The HAES bullshit doesn’t help.
