This is a follow-up to my other submission about getting hate on Reddit for noting a fat roommate's diet. Since people here share my awe at the amount of food fat people can inhale, I thought I'd give everyone some clean eating inspiration and share that diet here (as well as the health problems it caused!)
My roommate never cooked at home, and all of her food consisted of frozen meals, fast food, or take-out. The closest she came to cooking was making herself a gigantic omelette, which she ate alongside a bagel covered in peanut butter. This was a typical breakfast for her - this, or a gigantic bowl of sugary cereal, or whichever carbs she had lying around (like half a pie, for instance). Her lunch and dinner consisted of processed frozen food, like fries, onion rings, or chicken nuggets - hell, whenever she felt too lazy to do even that, her meal would be a half a bag of chips or popcorn (and not air-popped popcorn, either, but store-bought popcorn with a heap of sugar, butter, and flavorings added in). Whenever she went out with friends/relatives she would get a massive burger with fries, as well as dessert. She also kept snacking on junk food throughout the day, usually chocolates or other chips. For example, she once went to the Dollar Store and bought herself ten candy bars for the week, despite the fact that she had a cupboard full of candy already. She loved Diet Coke and would drink it religiously - she had these massive cups (which I estimate are enough for the contents of six regular cups) which she would fill with Diet Coke and ice and drink every night.
Sometimes she would offer me food that she had left over, usually something that was given to her by her co-workers or friends, like takeout pizza slices or cupcakes. If I did accept her food offering, she'd be confused if I didn't immediately eat it. Keep in mind that I keep careful track of my calories, since I usually underestimate calories and that could easily lead me to gaining weight. Sorry, I already had a full day's worth of food, I don't have the desire to eat a 550 calorie slice of cheesy pizza.
Now the health problems! She had heart issues and was perilously close to diabetes, but it was mostly all of the icky little things that come with being fat. She clearly had breathing/sinus issues - sitting next to her for long periods of time irritated me, since she breathed so heavily, and she was constantly sneezing or belching. The belching annoyed me the most - my mother raised me to never burp out loud, especially in front of other people, but my roommate was constantly loudly burping even when it had been hours since she last ate.
I personally enjoying reading accounts of fat people eating habits, since it helps keep me on track with my own diet goals. Feel free to comment about any of the gross eating habits/habits in general of fat people that you've known!
