That's why they take 10,000 photos trying to get the angle right. Nobody wants to look fat.

I agree, but what's considered acceptable does depend on society and tradition. For example, in modern Western society being fit is invariably preferable to being fat, because everyone could get fat if they wanted to, being a whale doesn't serve as a symbol of status. Whereas in poorer countries, where food isn't in such high supply and the opposite extreme- malnutrition is prevalent, being a fatso can symbolise one's wealth.

Lol, Myspace angle on me is hilarious. As in, I have no lower body at all.

If I try the MySpace angle I get a huge face, maybe some tit and two feet.

Off topic but I have the same bra size and can't ever find one. Where do you go for bras?

Exactly, shame is a natural defense mechanism. Nothing good comes from shutting it off.

These thundering obstacles have never known true fear. They should count themselves lucky they have the opportunity to change their lives, but no. They sit, waiting for death, clamoring for spectators.

It's like that story popping up about that girl who was offended by a teenager talking about how she could fit two people in a tank top. They weren't actively trying to shame her; she felt shame all on her own.

Yep, and running to the internet to cry "fat shaming" is basically just shouting "I'm mad that this girl indirectly & unintentionally reminded me that I'm ashamed of being fat"

"I'm mad that these people accurately pointed out that I'm bigger than two healthy weight people combined"

So cashiering the other day, there was a fat girl behind my customer. I tried bagging this sleeping bag thing (lady asked me to) and couldn't quite fit it in the bag. So I tried explaining it to her, "Yeah I think it's too big to fit in this thing, I tried squeezing it in." The fat girl was really pissy and gave me attitude when it was her turn lol. I didn't actually understand why til now.

It's because she knew she looked like the sleeping bag.

Don't read too much into it. Bitter and bitchy is the default state for fat people, literally anything could've caused it.

You reminded her of when she was putting her pants on that morning.

When fat, purple-haired, 30-pierced, whale-singing tumblrinas talk about being fierce, I imagine they consider bitching out the McDick's drive-through to be a ferocious display.

Fierce! -

a) adj. Possessing a good, intense, satisfying, powerful, or beautiful quality.

b) adj. Having looks that could "kill", similar to a wild animal.

Once again, fatties are using a word that does not even remotely describe them.

Their fierceness should be tested out in the wild. Or maybe even a third-world country where they would be hunted for sport.

Hunting a fatty is the lazy man's sport. It can't fight or run, it just sits there foraging for food.

A honey badger is fierce, not your fatass.

We need to take "fierce" back. I don't even care about curvy anymore, but they can't have fierce!!!

Let's call it what it really is then, "bitter."

What people need to get their head around is that it is not at all acceptable to judge people on things that they had no say on (race, disability, etc.), but to keep eating without exercising is a conscious decision and those that argue against this point are condoning pure gluttony, greed, and sloth. [edit: add gluttony]

But but... what about them thigh-roid thingys. I heard them things make you all fat and stuff. Must be why I am fat, nothing to do with the food I eats. Tat there ol' thigh-roid magically makes fat appear on muh already big bones. Its an illness I tells ya, an illness....

Very good point. It really gets to me when they call fat shaming people racist. Really, I mean really, you are not a different race. Different species maybe but no you don't get the race card because you eat to much. That would be like a white dude putting on black face and saying he understands the black plight. I think there was a movie about a guy who did it with pills back in the 80's or 90's I think. The fat effects their brains I tell ya.

Fat acceptance, or even indifference really, is a travesty. Encouraging people for being drug addicts, gambling addicts, alcoholics, etc. would be considered vile, so why is fat any different? Why is it 'wrong' to call a ham a ham? No one bats an eye when you call a crackhead a junky or a whino a drunk.

I had a drug addiction issue in my past, I was ashamed and (correctly) shamed for it.

So I fixed it. If no one shames the fatties why would they bother to fix it?

Perhaps Jung was right. Most BS people spew is just a projection of what is going on inside.

So true. People often comment on my height, I'm not the least bit offended, I often bang my head on things, and have problems fitting in seats in theatres, I don't complain or get huffy. I get that they can't build everything for tall people. It isn't shaming, I am not ashamed of my height, nor my large nose or bald head. I've had kids call be baldy, so what? I am. If being fat was a normal genetic thing there would be no fat-shaming, just as there is no tall-shaming. The fact any reminder of their fatness triggers such outpourings really does tell you everything about how they really feel about themselves. This is terribly, terribly sad, really, because 99% of them really could just lose some fucking weight.

Balding dude here, I really dont give any shits if people make fun of me for it. Why would i be ashamed?

They can unfat and know it. It shames them deep inside, we know it and they know it.
