I'll preface this by saying; I have mixed feelings about giving change to panhandlers, generally. If I'm in a really good mood, and they ask very kindly and without expectation or entitlement, I have a hard time saying no. Particularly if it's a woman or a very young or very old person because the added vulnerability stirs up a desire to reach out and help. And I know they probably aren't buying food or clothes, and giving them a buck or two isn't helping them. But ignoring them isn't helping either, and maybe the kindness of a stranger is a nice change from being ignored and marginalized and considered vermin by the city.
So, as I was waiting for a bus, a very mild mannered woman asked if I happened to have any change. She said it in a very non-demanding way and I gave her a few dollars and wished her a good evening. She thanked me graciously and you could tell she was genuinely appreciative.
A short time later, a fat piece of shit walked up and also asked for money.
"Do you have any change for food?"
First of all, I doubt you're buying food, and second, even if you were, YOU DONT NEED IT. Fatties asking for food money is like some rich Wall Street guy asking people for change. Clearly you have plenty, you greedy fuck.
Then he tries the lady sitting next to me on the bench.
"You have any change do I can buy some food?"
The lady seemed a bit unsure and was sort of reaching for her bag.
"Five dollars." The fatty said. Holy fuck you entitled golem, beggars can't be choosers you don't get to withdraw however much you want from a person as if their wallet is your personal atm!
"I don't have five dollars..." The lady said.
"Change, then." He said it as though he were a teacher telling a student to hand in whatever homework they'd partially completed.
The lady was uncomfortable you could tell, and handed him a few coins, I'm not sure how much.
"Got two dollars?" The fatty asked, still so entitled! She just gave you what she was willing to give and you ask her for more??
The lady declined and the fatty stomped off, not even thanking her, and proceeded to harass every other person at the bus stop.
Rude and entitled. I would have stood up for the lady and told the fatty to fuck off but the lady was just about as fat as he was so I figured being made uncomfortable by a fat was karma for her fat making other people uncomfortable on a daily basis.

I never have cash on me and sometimes really want to give to some panhandlers, but I did once have an apple from my lunch and handed it to someone. The human was super appreciative so I made a note to try and have leftover fruits for anyone I see.
Then I came across a fatty who laughed in my face and said "shit, rather have dirt!". Like, here you are asking for money for food, but won't take food? Half the time I feel like they are the ones that lie about being homeless for a quick buck.

I've been seeing this much around my city. The fat ones are the worst because they don't stand and approach vehicles to beg for gibs. The absolute worst ones are the diabetic wheelchair-bound panhandlers. They sit there on the side, all fat and lazy, wiggling their diabetic stump at people and sometimes bringing kids into this to fetch the money from people. It's a shame that we can't round these people up and toss them in the ocean. They're sucking up my tax dollars with their social-welfare and on top of that, guilt tripping people to giving them money for doing nothing.

Fat beggars strike me as someone who isn't trying. I mean, surely you would like to stop being homeless ultimately. Not blowing excess money on beetus would seem to be a first step to achieving that. It shows you are not willing to help yourself so why am I helping you?

My ex-coworker was homeless and played the pity card on everyone, every week there was a new story of how someone stole her stuff or messed up her tent. She also would beg everyone to basically do her work for her. She lasted longer than she should have because of the pity management felt.
She straight up told a coworker one night she wasn't going to do something he asked because "it's not her job", it was a simple task of bringing me a box that was part of my tasks to finish for the night, and he only asked her because she was on her way back to where I was, I eventually went down there and found it.
Fat homeless are disgusting vile creatures who lie nonstop.

There's an obeast that panhandles for fried chicken in and around my local 7/11. He literally approaches everyone with the same "Hey man, I need to get some fried chicken, do you think you can help me out?"
Fat panhandlers are the fucking worst.

I have never given money to a panhandler. They are rarely "marginalized by society" and are mostly just consciousless people who panhandle because it's an easy scam to make a few bucks. They dirty themselves up, look pathetic, and trade in their dignity to beg because the hourly pay is many times what they would earn at an honest job, and it's tax-free!
The fat panhandler was probably way more likely to be a legit homeless person. An alcoholic who begs to make the shakes go away in the morning, maybe keep a slight buzz on all day, eat a couple meals of cheap fast food, and a drink himself into oblivion at night can easily consume 4000+ calories a day with that lifestyle. $5 is a meal or a pint of liquor, and $2 is a 40 of malt liquor or cheap beer.
I dont want to support either lifestyle, so I never give money to panhandlers.

Exactly. I see several homeless in my city collecting cans and such to recycle for money, and a few even have jobs. Panhandlers are not necessarily homeless, but are almost always scammers, addicts, or both. The ones begging for food have in almost all cases sold off their food stamps (and yes, you can get food stamps without an address. You can pick them up at the post office or the benefits office). Honestly I have far more respect for prostitute junkies than panhandlers, because at least the prostitutes are doing something to earn money instead of bothering people until they get a handout.

I don't give money to panhandlers. In my city, the popular spot for them to hang out and beg for money is right in front of the LCBO (liquor store) so you know exactly where that money is going.
There's a skinny homeless man I've seen in my neighbourhood. He's got a shopping cart piled this high with stuff and I've seen him in other areas 5+ kilometers away, so he gets around and takes his cart with him. Last time I had to run down to the corner store for some milk, I saw him buying SO MANY lotto tickets. Which makes me wonder if he's mentally ill. All that money could have been better spent on a hot meal.

I never give to panhandlers. So many of them are full of crap (and since they're fat, that's a ton of crap). A lot of those people are employed and just greedy. By begging, they can make more per hour than people with actual jobs. I see these assholes all the time. They're always fat, they spend a lot of time setting up signs and chairs and occasionally umbrellas (and once a fucking portable television). They have their pet dogs with them on fancy leashes and a lot of them are wearing Ray-Bans. Then these 500 pound Twinkie dumpsters have the audacity to claim they need money for food. These assholes already get more on food stamps than some people make working full time.
These greedy fakers piss me off. Truly needy people have social programs where they can get what they need, and that's what they usually do (unless they're cut off for breaking the law somehow, and then they deserve nothing anyways). Those fat bastards begging everywhere deserve to be run down for bothering traffic. I now want to purchase a large truck just so I can install a cow catcher and shove these creatures off the road.
