I'm a vegetarian because I feel better eating that way. I'm also a 200 lb fighter. I confuse fatties because they want to make jokes about how real men eat meat but I dwarf them in musculature and there's lots of footage of me fighting competitively making it difficult for them to play the big tough guy.

b-b-b-but only real tough guys have no visible muscle mass and beer bellies, how can you be like that as a vegetarian??? I bet you make fatty brains implode on the daily, it sounds brilliant

Even though the majority of the world population can't consume it my genes agree.

No one needs dairy except calves.

Correction: They assume you are vegetarian when your vegetables are not breaded and fried. Replace your baked vegetables with a plate of fries and no one will say a word.

Ironic, cause potatoes are.... well...

My work has bbq days all the time. Gotta feed the fats. Most of the time my lunch is better but when I do have something I eat a veggie burger. I don't feel like having sausage garlic breath or processed burger sitting in my stomach for the rest of the day and I find the veggie burgers better tasting. Holy hell well apparently I'm a vegetarian now because I ate one veggie burger for fuck sakes. what's wrong with just enjoying something different

Fellow non-vegetarian who enjoys veggie burgers here.

I've never tried a veggie burger cause they look like a wheel of pressed barf to me. Are they actually tasty? Are there ingredients that I should seek out or avoid if I ever get the urge to try one?
Fuck it, I'll have a salad haha

I once bought a veggie burger, because I really wanted a cheese burger, the only one available with cheese was veggie. Anyway, it was fucking delicious and now it's my go-to burger (on the rare occasion I buy a burger) and ofc everyone said I was now vegetarian and "I bet it tastes gross"

Because they want to believe there's some easy way out "if I just give up meat or whatever I'll magically drop weight without having to eat less" So they tell themselves that thin person must be vegetarian. The truth is that lean meat is actually far less calorie dense than a lot of processed snacks and junk foods. This meat=weight gain thing is absolute bollocks. Look at how people back when obesity was a non-issue ate - meat, eggs and dairy and vegans were non existent. Although of course too much of anything will cause obesity.

Because fats don't eat vegetables ever (unless they're deep fried and/or covered in ranch), so they assume anyone eating them must be vegetarian.

Don't forget vegetables swimming in cheese sauce!

I have an almost-underweight bmi (18.6) and fatties seem to be always astonished at how 'rich' my diet is. I eat mostly meat/fish, eggs, dairy, non-starchy veggies and occasionally soy, because that's the diet I personally feel my best on and have the most energy on. My vegan friend who is bmi 24 nicknames me the arch-carnivore. The main difference is I eat far smaller portions of said 'rich' food and move around a lot more and avoid processed snack foods except as an occasional 'treat'. But fatties always assume I must live on lettuce leaves.

Every fat in my boyfriend's family hates mushrooms because of the "texture"

I am a vegetarian, last 20 years (I'm 30ish and don't look like I'd be a veggie)
HAMS always got something to fucking say!
It's their total lack of understanding that a human could eat something but chooses not to. That's what it always comes down to
