The normal weight dudes dress all old timey, but hammy can't... because they didn't make vintage clothes in whale size. There were only so many circus freaks to go around back then and fatties ruin clothes.

Yeah, in modern times I'm considered "Zomg! So Skinny! Anorexic! Do you even eat!" but when I shop vintage I'm a medium. A fucking MEDIUM. Not surprised fatty can't dress vintage, I'm sure the few circus tents they made back then have long since disintegrated.

One really funny intersection of all this is the origin of "it's not over till the fat lady sings". It comes from the woman who played Brünnhilde in one of the original productions of Wagner's ring cycle. And you see her.....she's obviously fat. But today she'd be considered smallfat, not even to the level of planet. And she was considered so grotesquely large that the spectacle of her size dominated people's perception.
