As much as I hate fatties I have a lot of respect for actors that gain weight for movie roles (and then lose it). Not only does it show dedication to the role but it also shows fatties that people can get fat and then lose it as long as they try. I think Vincent Donofrio (go Law & Order!) gained something like 60 pounds for this role.

The wikipedia said he gained 80! Jesus fucking Christ and he is "small fat" for today's standards.

To be fair paid actors are also supplied with personal trainers, dieticians and kept strictly on diet (plus that is where they get their money from anyway...) At least thats how it is now, not sure how it was back when FMJ was made.

Eric Bana in 'Chopper'.

He was always tall and thin (see 'The Castle', classic Australian movie), put on a beer gut for 'Chopper' (another Australian movie), lost it again for 'Black Hawk Down'.

When asked about his secret to losing the weight on the Australian TV show 'The Panel', his reply was 'I worked my arse off for it. That was it'

Sadly, this was the mid to late 90's. I'm yet to find a clip uploaded, and i've been searching.
