Fat doesn't protect you from bruising, lol. There are capillaries that feed all the adipose tissue just like any other tissue.

Haha, I actually do bruise very easily, but not because of being human sized! Maybe the fat stopped her from thinking clearly.

Are you getting enough iron? My wife had that issue and although she wasn't technically anemic she was low enough that she bruised way more easily than she should have.

That is one reason why fat people have so many surgical complications. Adipose tissue is generally poorly vascularized; as compared to the tissue of...... the scalp let's say for example because it has a small to almost non-existent amount of fat...... so when they go ahead and sew it back together, the fatty layers don't approximate well and they end up with a big seeping fatty wound.

I used to see this first-hand assisting with veterinary surgeries. Sometimes we'd have patients with so much abdominal fat that it was next to impossible to suture closed and it looked and healed like shit.

I could have smacked her but I was too scared to get that close or touch her.

Fat teachers and advocates failing children is a huge, huge pet peeve of mine.

Same. I love children, I work with them, volunteer a ton, spend my life with other people's kids. Fat parents who overfeed their kids make me sick. It's abuse. Fat aides/teachers who can't do their jobs should be fired. J could be much closer to not needing help if she could pull her finger out of her arse and actually help him!

Active women that are into sports and fitness spend about a third of our days wondering where all the various bruises came from. (next time someone that's piggered comments like that to you.)

This is me right now. My thighs are currently covered in bruises from hitting my child's seat while cycling... still getting used to having him on the bike with me. Plus I'm slightly iron deficient, which I'm working on correcting.

That is my life! I'm clumsy to boot, and will just randomly bang into stuff.

The worst is my mum! Always saying "oooh you need to be more careful" fuck off, I'm covered in bruises and scars but I love the lifestyle that leads to that! I'm not stopping or slowing down yet!!!!!!!!

I'm a bruiser too because I am so clumsy. Sometimes I don't know that I got a bruise until someone else or o find it.

I think your response was great. Telling her that it is inappropriate to comment on someone's body like that. How would she feel if you pointed at her knees and told her that if she lost weight, her knees and ankles wouldn't hurt so much from standing and walking.

Of course there is are great responses of "if I put on some weight I would've taken out that wall when I hit it." Or "I would need a construction crane to spot me."

Keep an eye on the kid. Parents become very concerned when their kids make a decline. If it continues bring it up with the director please.

That's exactly my issue too; I bruise easily, have a very active lifestyle, and am clumsy as sin. I'm black, blue, and green half the time.

Working with kids has made my natural response to be opening my eyes very wide, looking straight at the offender, and loudly stating "That's rude. That was a very rude thing to say." or "That was not okay. That was not appropriate." People are far more uncomfortable when I do that then when I'm a sarcastic bitch, and they can write me off for being a cunt.

I've put in a complaint to the school and I'm hoping his Primary gets in touch, Not much else I can do, though I plan to speak with his class teacher soon.

I'm in a similar boat, I started on the original reddit, moved here then got swamped with volunteering, school and illness. Recently my old job filled my position with a female(?) lard beast. It's a job that requires you to be standing for 8-10 hours, lift and arrange awkward heavy objects, and speak convincingly and professionally to a wide variety of people......It spent it's entire first two events checking fb and ignoring everyone

I'm guessing it's 5'8-9" and upwards of 300 lbs. Best of luck to J, I feel sorry for the poor kid. Is there anyway you can take pictures and show his parents just how uninvolved the doughnut burglar is?

I took a good spill a few weeks ago, if I were fat i would have broken a leg. But because there was little weight I just got a nasty bruise, a small gash, and a bit of pride lost.
