In general I would agree, I find the gym very ineffective for weightloss, because most people just get hungry after a workout and "reward" themselves for an extra meal that contains probably more than they worked off. But my mom proofed me wrong. She has been a high normal weight BMI over the last years, since her retirement she didn't change her eating but went to the gym 3 times per week and lost 22lbs in under a year and got really slim. Obviously, 22lbs on a fupamonster is close to nothing, on her it's extremly visible.

The sad part about this is, that her eating habits have always been very unhealthy and she still has horrible bloodwork and organ problems due to that even though she's slim now. Worst of all is, that her doctor says "It can't be related to your eating because you are slim" while she only eats crappy foods, just not that much of it. I'm proud that she got slimer, but I would have wished that she got healthier too...

I get it... It's ur mom, But also I get that ppl rewarding themselves after a workout is a treat. But you need to realize that over eating is the problem. She hasn't change her diet, and she needs to.
