You should consider making cold brew. Grind some coffee really rough and mix with water in a mason jar. Leave it in the fridge overnight and you're good to go. It's delicious.

My fiance and I make a bastardized version of cold brew for now. We found this pitcher that has a long coffee filter in the middle, so you can fill it with coffee and let it brew over night. It still lets some of the fine powder from pre-ground coffee out, though, so we're looking for a good grinder. Cold brew is amazing.

Get a burr grinder. We got one on Amazon for about $100 and it was worth the investment. It makes a nice, perfectly even grind for everything from espresso to cold brew (grind it like you would for a French press). If you use cheese cloth layered three times it won't let any of the grind through when you filter it.

Your pitcher thing is a french press. I prefer it over brewed.
