Free speech. You can't ban ideas you don't like, you need to combat them with better ideas.

It's just like with antivaxxers. The answer to bad speech is more speech. Debunking works. Arresting them for expressing opinions just makes them look good, because states tend to arrest people for opposing bullshit. Lots of countries arrest you for questioning the existence of Allah, none of them will arrest you for saying 1+1 = 3.

Exactly.

We can combat them with ideas like BMI tests for politicians. Stop electing fatasses, we stop getting laws supporting fatasses, and maybe start making policies to combat the butter.

Too many fat people in the electorate. Hopefully they hate their fatness enough to stop electing fat asses. I doubt this, because congress right now has a major obesity problem, apparently.

This works in public arenas more generally, but school students are not yet fully equipped to evaluate competing ideas. They are therefore vulnerable to indoctrination and may require additional protection.

We need more shitlords to help stomp out the disease that FA is. Keep it up people. Every look of disgust helps.

This bugs me so much! I don't understand how you can teach a course that's fundamentally and easily disproved in schools. I can understand doing lectures at events or whatever because you're paying to spread your bullshit opinion. But it's a school. What is said there needs to be founded on a lot of established science. How can you have a health class teaching the dangers of obesity and then a HAES class teaching you obesity is not a health problem?

I also hate that they get books published as non-fiction. HAES is fiction, it is an opinion, it cannot be published as fact.

Kids often don't know better. That's kind of why we send them to school. It cannot be allowed to systematically indoctrinate them in pure lies. You teach kids facts and then if they are stupid enough to believe HAES after school, they deserve it. Now that we have these classes, obesity is going to explode. I honestly think this is going to be so bad. Kids are fattened up enough before getting taught that they should get fatter still.

We need a shitlord politician to get legislation in place that helps our country combat obesity. We are doomed if we don't start turning things around.

Will never happen because of the first amendment, but that gives us all the more ability to tell them how brain dead they are

At least in the US, freedom of speech buys you a lot of leeway into claiming anything you want.

Maybe you should stop being angry at the fats??

Maybe, you should just buy them doughnuts occasionally?

That way there would be less of them sooner.

Why did you get downvotes? Did people stop reading at the first sentence?

Not soon enough. If we just get them fatter, they'll die gradually and prolong the duration and percentage of hideous people.

Feed them high fatty foods for a fortnight. Then put them on coaches, drive far away from anywhere close to humanity. Drop fatties off and tell them that they're doing am Easter egg hunt. Once they amble off in search of shitty over sugared chocolate, release your very protective and aggressive guard dogs.

Either they'll die of shock, heart failure or falling while trying to flee.

After, leave corpses in said isolated area.

Rinse and repeat.

Free speech and none of them are claiming to be doctors. They all reference Linda Bacon and ignore every other piece of medical literature, so while what they are doing is ignorant and misleading there really isn't much you can do to get them banned.

What we can do is just keep shutting down bullshit and showing how often these people live by double standards or have done things that are unethical, unscrupulous or just plain wrong. Discrediting fat activists at every possible opportunity will eventually have an impact on their influence.

Free speech. It's important. More important than avoiding fatness. Don't get me wrong they are fucking retards. But it's important retards be allowed to say their retarded shit because otherwise we won't be able to say our controversial shit.

I agree it is the same thing, but is it illegal for heroin users to tell people that it's a great thing to do? I see this in a lot of the same light as science and religion. I don't get why we let people say the earth is flat, or dinosaurs lived with people, or that there was a global flood. But on the flip side, if we tell people that they can't say those things, what sort of speech is next on the chopping block. Not sure there is an easy answer here.

Not sure if rhetorical question, but no, it is not illegal to tell people heroin is a great thing to do, at least in the USA.

The best way to combat it is by having fit people as teachers. Not just in gym class, but gym class is a given. Show kids that not being fat is fun and that you can be more and do more if you aren't fat. Surround them around positive role models instead of roll models. If any fat teachers or support staff happen to get hired, the kids should be able to see the difference in their attitudes and ability... Though when I was in highschool, we always liked having this morbidly obese sub since she would take half the class just to GET to class. If the class was on another floor, she wouldn't even show up (or if she did, it was after everyone had left) She was the first deathfat I remember seeing in real life. This was in the late 90s so I assume she's long dead.
