Funny thing is, I'm a 90s kid and I too can say growing up, fats kept themselves covered. Fat girls in school typically wore men's shirts any even larger sweaters. This may also contribute to living in a more conservative small town as well. Im terrified to see how many obeast teens are running around in skimpy clothing now. Not only is it aesthetically displeasing but to see them trying to normalize their fatness is just depressing.

Seeing their fat spill out of their clothes is outright demoralizing. When I see them, I stare in disbelief until they become uncomfortable.

Well in all fairness the best thing you can do for them is make them uncomfortable, that's the only way they might take the option to change. Even though typically a fat with translate it to being oppressed.
