Getting obesity listed as a mental illness might be a good thing. People with other eating disorders, depression, schizophrenia, etc. are put into hospital against their will because they are deemed unable to make decisions about their own care. Sometimes treatment is forced upon them. Even if they refuse to move, they can't get Booger King sent into a closed unit.

They would begin to sue everybody for discrimination if it were labeled a disability.

Hmm you got a point. But maybe if people didn't take them seriously, it would be better in the long run. People who are put into state care because they think they're Jesus or because they think the FBI are after them don't get far when they try to sue the hospital or their parents for committing them.

I get what you're saying, but why waste even more resources just because someone can't put down a fork? You could lock them up until they're at a normal weight and they'd just gain it all back once they were let out. The mentality has to change to fix it and you can't force that. Fats gonna fat.
