I had this same discussion with my husband, we usually eat home made meals, fruits, veggies, lots of fish since we live by the sea, but once in a blue moon I drive by local burger joint and bring some stuff home and holy shit this is exepnsive, I can't understand how people can do this once or twice a day, I have a full time job but couldn't keep up with this lifestyle if I wanted to.

According to many documentaries, they spend upwards of $40~ £20~ A MEAL...
Every night, if they order out...
Not including the cost of gallons of milk, tonnes of sugary cereals, sweets, snacks, half-hour meals, the cost of home delivery...

You're right, I find it expensive just for 2 coke, 2 hamburgers and a few French fries for 2 people, but I didn't put myself in the head of a fatty and now that's even more dramatic. Nah, I should have a side job to be able to afford this, but with this diet the stamina to work 2 jobs wouldn't last long.

Are you always disappointed by fast food, like I am? The cost is so much greater than the benefit.

Seriously, had my yearly Big Mac meal over Christmas and it was fucking $9 (granted this was in the Toronto airport). That's a shit ton of chickpeas.

I think that's the norm. I'm about an hour outside Toronto and last time I bought a BigMac meal it cost about the same

I eat home cooked meals the majority of the time because it tastes better and I know where the ingredients come from. Even buying quality foods it is much cheaper for me than to eat out at a fast food place, where you also know they're just using the lowest-cost questionable meat they can get their hands on. Fats I've seen at my work really rack up a high bill between their daily Starbeetus and their XL lunch orders with a bunch of sides, sugar drinks, and desserts. Then they hit the vending machine at least once a day and you know when they go home they're microwaving something out of a package for dinner and eating a bag of chips on the drive home. It's a lot of money that I wouldn't want to be wasting daily, especially when it's doing that to your body.
