It legitimately is child abuse to fatten up your kids. That cunt is writing her kid's death certificate.

Agreed. I've been there, my parents aren't obese (my mom is most likely in the "overweight" BMI category) and they never did it intentionally but I always had a sweet tooth. I was never educated about this sort of thing, and I was a latchkey kid so the afternoon snack for me was a few oreo cookies. The best part is that my family had close ties to the Great Depression and were raised that way, both my father and mother came from somewhat low income families, so "finish all the food on your plate or no dessert" was the mantra. Did more harm than good, and to this day, 20+ years later, I just CAN'T throw food away. It's one of the hardest things I do.

It's hard to really dislike fat people and work in an environment when you are around them a lot. Especially when you have to serve them and actually see their poor lifestyle choices, sometimes on a daily basis.

I used to be a cashier at our local grocery store several years back to bring in some extra income. I've seen my fair share of horrible people coming in with their kids (addicts, the poor, the wealthy, white trash/"holler folk", whatever...you name it), but I would have to say that I saw more fat people than any other. When you're standing there, ringing up items and bagging them, you can't help but think about shit in your head, wondering why the hell someone would waste so much money on junk food when there's so many better options at a much cheaper price. It's even shittier when you see they have small kids, chugging right along in their foot steps being a big kid for their age, drooling over the boxes of gummy snacks, pop, microwavable foods, and bags of candy you're ringing up and putting into a bag.

You want to say something. You do so and have a high possibility of losing your job, making it difficult to get another, or you just bite your tongue and move on to the next one. Kudos to you shitlords that have to put up with that shit on a daily basis, seeing people just not give a shit about their kids and their lifestyle while they try to blame it on "genetics".

It's child abuse and I don't see it any other way.

Reminds me of how I saw a mom giving her probably 3yr old daughter a regular size caramel frap (whip cream and all) to drink. Why would you do that to a kid?? They do not need that much sugar! hell if you want to treat them you could have gotten the mini ones at the very least. God this is why kids are so fat.

My boyfriend manages a sbux and said that's a normal occurrence. Why in the fuck would you give a toddler a candied coffee? And of course they get a bagful of cake pops to go with it. I would get so upset seeing that shit.

or one of those brownies/cakes. All I can think is "when your kid gets fat, this is why. Horrible eating habits"

Guys if someone was beating their kid in public, they'd be demonized and all over the news. It's fucking ridiculous that this isn't looked at the same way.
