I'm all for it if you wanna hate on someone for being fat (it's why I'm here) but this is more /v/fph being ignorant about lifting. It's extremely common to wear your belt high on a deadlift, even in lower weight classes. SHW or not, high bf or not, powerlifters do it.

I've lifted for years, and have never seen a person wear a belt at their tits. Slightly above the belly button? Yes. Tits? No.

Competitively? I never see gym rats do it. I see it at meets often. Belt position will vary by setup position, height, and where you need help bracing. Most guys will just put in on midsection cause "that's what you do".

I'm only into light lifting so I'm not ridiculously knowledgeable but I thought the point of a belt was to give your abs something to brace against with heavier weights. Would a belt that high really accomplish anything?
