So I went in for some random shopping at this store. It's basically a discounter that's a mix of actual neat deals and cheap stuff manufactured just for the store with a made up RRP and super expensive brand label stuck on.
But even if the items might not be "from the collection" the clothing still has designer sizing. Which is like the opposite of vanity sizing. I held up an italian dress that was labeled a 48 so like XXL in the fashion world but it's actually a size 40 or L in regular sizing. It varies considering the stores stock hundreds of brands but it's either designer sizing or regular sizing. Not to mention there's barely anything bigger than an XL because GUESS WHAT DESIGNERS DONT DRESS FATTIES. I only saw 4 racks. Not rows. Racks. This store is gigantic too.
They stock jeans down to a 25 inch waist. The largest I saw was like a 36. cue american shitlords having to shop kids clothing envying me
But the absolute best part and why I am posting this in the first place is their huge sportswear section. I laughed when I realised this. They have like 4 rows of sportswear and each row has like 5-6 racks. One row had tops, the other pants, etc.. Then the racks are sorted by size. Out these 5-6 racks. 4 of them were filled to the brim with S and XS sizes. Then one for Ms. Then one with Ls and at the very end like a handful of XL things. Gee I wonder if there's a difference in demand?
So to any american tourists visiting europe in dire need of clothing go there.

The ever fattening population of the UK may ruin this oasis of fashion soon sadly. Primark has gone to the whales. When my husband went to look for some shirts they were, I kid you not, SHAPED LIKE A FAT MAN!! They billowed out at the bottom to make room for the gut. Disgusting.

I figure as long as the brands that TJ Maxx gets their stuff from don't decide to fatten up as well it will be fine. Though yeah Primark is such a fatty store. Most of the stuff there even in Germany is larger than a size 12/40. It's probably different in each store but the one I go to has mostly stuff from brands where you might pay 50-60 per item and then its discounted. In germany brands in that price range don't make fatty clothing. Fatties only get the cheapest brands to make their stuff. And it looks horrible too. No "trendy" stores for fatties.

I hate vanity sizing in the US. It's gotten so bad that it's in the men's clothing too. I can't wear a medium t shirt at all, and a large makes me look like I'm showing off. Xl just looks like A tent on me. It's square, too broad in the shoulders and too short in the torso.

How can they? Their whole job is to make clothes that look good, and you can't predict where the fat will go on all these different individuals.
